My successes.

With 30 years of sales, management, and client service experience in the world of marketing, Brad Westerman knew he wanted a strong brand and smart values for his new business venture in Northern Virginia.

He bought into an existing franchise territory of the College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving, ready to wear the many hats of a small-business owner. “We physically move things, but we also strive to help in times of transition to the clients we serve,” Westerman says. Along with his team’s “stress-free” moving service, the franchise’s item-removal services for donation, recycling or disposal provides “physical and emotional freedom to our clients,” he says.

“Richard has provided tremendous guidance and introduced me to others who have helped,” Westerman says.

College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving of Northern Virginia was named Outstanding Franchise Business at the 2017 SCORE Awards.

How SCORE helped.

Westerman sought out SCORE’s guidance during his due-diligence period researching franchising opportunities, where volunteer mentors Richard Rose and Len Briskman offered their expertise. Rose helped Westerman evaluate different options and prepared him for what to expect as a franchisee.
